Irena Sendler was a Polish social worker and humanitarian who served in the Polish Underground during World War II and helped to smuggle hundreds of Jewish children to safety.  The Anglo Polish Society, with the generous support of the Polish Embassy, have brought the Irena Sendler Exhibition to Bristol.   From July 9th to the 15th, the exhibition will be on view at The Gallery Space in The Island (perhaps better-known locally as The Old Bridewell Police Station!).  Opening hours are from 10am to 8pm, and there is no charge to view the exhibit.

In addition to the exhibition, on the evening of July 11th, from 7:30pm, there will be a talk about Irena Sendler.  There is a £3.00 charge for the talk, to cover the cost of Polish cakes and refreshments to follow.

Please be aware that both the exhibition and the talk are located upstairs in the building, and unfortunately there is no lift access.  We are very sorry.
